Ismailova Mohinur Gafurovna, A Strategic Framework for Evaluating Entrepreneurial Practices and Their Impact on Small and Medium Enterprise Performance
Abstract
Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) play a significant role in economic growth, employment generation, innovation, and industrial development. Despite their importance, many SMEs experience performance constraints arising from inadequate entrepreneurial practices, weak innovation systems, limited strategic orientation, and insufficient managerial capabilities. This study develops a strategic framework for evaluating entrepreneurial practices and their impact on SME performance through a comprehensive review and synthesis of existing literature. The paper examines the relationships among entrepreneurial orientation, innovation capability, organizational commitment, leadership, knowledge management, opportunity recognition, and business performance. Using a research and review methodology, evidence from prior studies is integrated to identify critical entrepreneurial dimensions that influence firm growth, sustainability, competitiveness, and profitability. The findings indicate that entrepreneurial practices significantly enhance SME performance when supported by innovation, strategic flexibility, knowledge utilization, and effective leadership mechanisms. The proposed framework provides theoretical and practical guidance for entrepreneurs, policymakers, and researchers seeking to improve SME competitiveness in dynamic business environments.
