This policy outlines the responsibilities of authors, reviewers, and editors in preventing, identifying, and addressing plagiarism and related forms of publication misconduct.
1. Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

Directly copying text, figures, tables, ideas, or other intellectual content without appropriate citation or acknowledgment.

Paraphrasing or restructuring another author's work without giving proper credit.

Presenting another person's research, arguments, findings, or concepts as one's own.

Self-plagiarism or redundant publication, including substantial reuse of previously published material without appropriate disclosure.

Reusing data, charts, models, case materials, images, or other content without proper attribution or permission where required.

Using another person's business, management, economic, financial, or organizational research findings without appropriate acknowledgment.

Submitting substantially similar manuscripts to multiple journals simultaneously.
2. Originality Requirement

All manuscripts submitted to IJMBD must be original and unpublished.

Manuscripts that are currently under review or consideration by another journal are not accepted.

Authors must appropriately cite relevant previous research, including their own previously published work.

Where a manuscript contains material derived from an author's earlier publication, the relationship and extent of reuse must be clearly disclosed.

3. Plagiarism Detection

All submitted manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism and similarity-detection software as part of the editorial assessment process.

Similarity reports are reviewed and interpreted by the editorial team rather than being evaluated solely on the basis of a numerical similarity percentage.

Some similarity may occur because of references, standard academic terminology, commonly used phrases, methodological descriptions, or other unavoidable text.

Substantial or inappropriate textual, conceptual, or data overlap may result in further investigation or editorial action.
4. Handling Plagiarism
4.1 Before Publication

Manuscripts found to contain substantial plagiarism or other serious forms of inappropriate content reuse may be rejected.

Where the overlap is limited and can reasonably be addressed through appropriate citation, acknowledgment, or revision, authors may be asked to make corrections.

Serious or intentional cases may be referred for further investigation in accordance with the journal's publication ethics procedures.
4.2 After Publication

If plagiarism or serious unauthorized reuse is identified after publication, IJMBD may investigate the matter and take appropriate corrective action.

Where an article is retracted, an appropriate retraction notice may be issued and linked to the original publication.

5. Responsibilities of Authors
Authors must:

Properly cite and acknowledge all sources, ideas, data, quotations, figures, tables, and other materials obtained from other works.

Obtain appropriate permissions for copyrighted third-party material where required.

Disclose previous publications and any substantial overlap with earlier work.

Avoid submitting the same or substantially similar manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously.

Cooperate fully with any editorial investigation concerning suspected plagiarism or publication misconduct.
6. Responsibilities of Editors and Reviewers

Editors and reviewers should remain alert to possible plagiarism, duplicate publication, or inappropriate reuse of scholarly content.

Suspected cases should be reported to the editorial office with relevant evidence or supporting information where available.

Investigations are handled confidentially and fairly.

Editorial decisions regarding suspected plagiarism are made in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies and appropriate procedural standards.

Reviewers must not use unpublished manuscript content for their own academic or professional purposes.
7. Consequences of Plagiarism
Confirmed plagiarism or serious publication misconduct may result in one or more of the following actions, depending on the circumstances:
