The International Journal of Intelligent Data and Machine Learning (IJIDML) is committed to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity. Plagiarism and unethical reuse of content are strictly prohibited. This policy outlines the responsibilities of authors, reviewers, and editors in preventing and addressing plagiarism.

1. Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Direct copying of text, figures, tables, or ideas without proper citation

  • Paraphrasing another work without acknowledgment

  • Self-plagiarism or redundant publication

  • Using others’ data, software code, or images without proper credit

2. Originality Requirement

  • All submissions must be original and unpublished

  • Manuscripts under review elsewhere are not accepted

  • Authors must cite related work appropriately, including their own prior publications

3. Plagiarism Detection

  • All submissions are screened using plagiarism detection software

  • Similarity reports are assessed by the editorial team to determine acceptability

  • Minor similarity due to references, standard terminology, or methodology is acceptable; substantial overlap is not

4. Handling Plagiarism

4.1 Before Publication

  • Manuscripts with significant plagiarism may be rejected immediately

  • Minor issues may require revision with proper citation

4.2 After Publication

  • Published articles found to contain plagiarism may be corrected, retracted, or removed

  • Retraction notices are linked to the original article

5. Responsibilities of Authors

Authors must:

  • Ensure originality of submitted work

  • Properly cite all sources

  • Disclose previous publications or overlapping content

6. Responsibilities of Editors and Reviewers

  • Editors and reviewers must report suspected plagiarism

  • Investigations are confidential and thorough

  • Decisions follow ethical guidelines and due process

7. Consequences of Plagiarism

Confirmed plagiarism may result in:

  • Rejection of the manuscript

  • Retraction of published articles

  • Notification to the author’s institution or funding body

  • Temporary or permanent ban on future submissions

8. Ethical Compliance

IJIDML follows the guidelines recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in handling plagiarism and publication misconduct.
