CIGP: Centralized Governance of Distributed Healthcare Integration Engine Environments

4 Independent Researcher, USA

Abstract

Enterprise healthcare organizations operating distributed integration engines face a fundamental governance challenge: as active interfaces scale into the hundreds, maintaining consistent configurations, enforcing translation rules, monitoring regulatory compliance, and managing interface lifecycles from a unified vantage point becomes infeasible through single-instance administration consoles. Configuration drift β€” where ostensibly identical interfaces across sites diverge through undocumented modifications β€” leads to inconsistent data transformation, unpredictable upgrade behavior, and escalating maintenance burden. This paper presents the Centralized Interface Governance Platform (CIGP) β€” a web-client architecture operating above individual integration engine instances to provide unified configuration management, translation rule enforcement, compliance monitoring, and interface lifecycle control across distributed multi-engine environments. Evaluation across a simulated enterprise comprising four engine instances, 12 client facilities, and 480 active interfaces over 90 days demonstrates: 99.6% configuration drift detection accuracy; 100% translation rule consistency (up from 73.3% baseline); 71.4% reduction in mean-time-to-deploy; 100% audit trail completeness across 21,815 events; and 98.3% compliance posture (up from 85.8% baseline). CIGP provides a replicable governance architecture for organizations seeking enterprise-scale interoperability control.
