PROFILE
PhD in Environmental Sciences (PCD number 26226), from Department of Environmental Sciences, COMSATS University Islamabad, Abbottabad Campus, Pakistan. My research has so far resulted in more than 40 publications, articles in peer-reviewed international journals, short articles in popular-scientific journals and international conferences. Our research article “Photodegradation of Orange II under visible light using Cu–Ni/TiO2: Effect of calcination temperature” was the most cited research publication for the year 2012 published in Chemical Engineering Journal. My total impact factor is 120.8.

Teaching includes Basic Environment, Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Nanomaterials in Environmental Science, Analytical Chemistry, Biomedical Instrumentation and Techniques, Separation process, Heat Transfer and Research Methodology at undergraduate level.

My principal research interests are in the field of material synthesis, characterization, and application for waste reatment. Most recent research work was on photocatalysis, ionic liquid synthesis, photocatalytic degradation of azo dyes, pesticides, and persistent antibiotics in wastewaters. In my PhD research work, I synthesized novel material of Graphene Quantum dots decorated metal and nonmetal doped TiO2 and tested it against persistent pollutants in textile wastewater.

My future research ambitions are to further develop my current research work, analytical and technical abilities in a challenging environment where growth, initiative, attention to detail and improvement are valued and
encouraged; an environment that empowers me to deliver outcomes that I am responsible for with pride. These ambitions are supported by an excellent understanding of the academia and research which affect it whilst maintaining the highest standards.
