Publication Ethics

The International Journal of Social Sciences and Humanity Development (IJSSHD) is committed to upholding the highest standards of ethical publishing and academic integrity. The journal follows the ethical principles and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—are expected to adhere strictly to these standards.

1. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to IJSSHD must comply with the following ethical principles:

1.1 Originality and Plagiarism

  • Manuscripts must be original and unpublished work.

  • All sources must be properly cited and acknowledged.

  • Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism and duplicate publication, is strictly prohibited.

  • All submissions may be screened using plagiarism detection software.

1.2 Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Submission

  • Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.

  • Previously published work must not be submitted unless clearly disclosed and justified.

1.3 Authorship and Contribution

  • Authorship should reflect significant intellectual contributions to the research.

  • All listed authors must approve the final version of the manuscript.

  • Any change in authorship after submission requires written consent from all authors.

1.4 Data Integrity and Research Accuracy

  • Authors must ensure accuracy, transparency, and honesty in data collection, analysis, and reporting.

  • Fabrication, falsification, or manipulation of data is unacceptable.

  • Raw data should be made available upon reasonable request.

1.5 Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest

  • Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal conflicts of interest.

  • All funding sources supporting the research must be clearly stated.

2. Ethical Responsibilities of Editors

Editors of IJSSHD are responsible for ensuring fair and unbiased editorial decisions.

2.1 Editorial Independence

  • Manuscripts are evaluated solely on academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance.

  • Editorial decisions are free from commercial or personal influence.

2.2 Confidentiality

  • Editors must treat all submitted manuscripts as confidential documents.

  • Information about manuscripts must not be disclosed to anyone other than authorized parties.

2.3 Conflict of Interest

  • Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist.

2.4 Ethical Oversight

  • Editors are responsible for investigating ethical concerns or allegations of misconduct in accordance with COPE guidelines.

3. Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

Peer reviewers play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and integrity of published research.

3.1 Confidentiality

  • Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential and not shared with others.

3.2 Objectivity and Fairness

  • Reviews must be objective, constructive, and free from personal bias.

3.3 Timeliness

  • Reviewers should complete their reviews within the agreed timeframe or notify the editor of delays.

3.4 Conflict of Interest

  • Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest and decline reviews where impartiality is compromised.

4. Publisher’s Responsibilities

  • The publisher supports ethical publishing practices and ensures editorial independence.

  • Corrections, retractions, and clarifications are handled transparently and promptly.

  • Published content is preserved and made permanently accessible.

5. Handling of Misconduct, Retractions, and Corrections

  • Allegations of misconduct, including plagiarism or unethical research practices, are thoroughly investigated.

  • Confirmed misconduct may result in rejection, retraction, correction, or notification to relevant institutions.

  • Retractions and corrections are clearly labeled and linked to the original article.
