Peer Review Policy

International Research Journal of Library and Information Sciences (IRJLIS)

The International Research Journal of Library and Information Sciences (IRJLIS) is committed to maintaining high academic standards through a fair, rigorous, and transparent peer review process. Peer review ensures the quality, credibility, and scholarly integrity of published research.

1. Type of Peer Review

  • IRJLIS follows a double-blind peer review process.

  • The identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other to ensure impartial and unbiased evaluation.

  • All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial screening by the editorial team to assess:

    • Relevance to the journal’s scope

    • Compliance with submission guidelines

    • Originality and academic quality

    • Ethical standards and plagiarism compliance

  • Manuscripts failing to meet basic requirements may be rejected without external review.

3. Selection of Reviewers

  • Manuscripts passing initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers.

  • Reviewers are selected based on subject expertise, research experience, and publication record.

  • Editors ensure reviewers have no conflicts of interest with the authors or research.

4. Review Criteria

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on:

  • Originality and contribution to library and information sciences

  • Clarity of objectives and research questions

  • Appropriateness of methodology and analysis

  • Validity of results and conclusions

  • Organization, clarity, and quality of writing

  • Relevance of references and scholarly context

5. Review Outcomes

Based on reviewer reports, the editor may decide to:

  • Accept the manuscript without revision

  • Accept with minor revisions

  • Request major revisions and resubmission

  • Reject the manuscript

Editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit.

6. Revision Process

  • Authors must address reviewer comments point by point.

  • Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the original reviewers for further evaluation.

  • Failure to adequately address reviewer concerns may result in rejection.

7. Confidentiality

  • All manuscripts and reviewer reports are treated as strictly confidential.

  • Reviewers must not share, copy, or use manuscript content for personal advantage.

8. Conflicts of Interest

  • Reviewers and editors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

  • Individuals with conflicts must decline participation in the review process.

9. Ethical Oversight

  • IRJLIS follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

  • Allegations of bias, misconduct, or unethical behavior during peer review are investigated promptly and fairly.
