Article Processing Fee Waiver Policy

Critique Open Research & Review is committed to promoting equitable access to scholarly publishing opportunities for researchers worldwide. As part of this commitment, we offer article processing fee waivers to authors based on the income level of their country of residence. Our fee waiver policy aims to support researchers from low-income countries who may face financial barriers to publishing their work.

High-Income Countries: Authors residing in countries classified as high-income economies by the World Bank are expected to pay the full article processing fee. The fees contribute to the costs associated with editorial processes, peer review, production, hosting, and dissemination of research articles.

Low-Income Countries: Authors residing in countries classified as low-income economies by the World Bank may be eligible for a full or partial waiver of the article processing fee. To qualify for a fee waiver, authors must demonstrate financial need and provide documentation supporting their request. Eligibility will be assessed on a case-by-case basis, taking into consideration factors such as individual or institutional funding constraints.

Application Process: Authors requesting a fee waiver should submit a formal request at the time of manuscript submission. The request should include a justification for the waiver, along with supporting documentation, such as a statement of financial need or confirmation of institutional funding limitations. All requests will be reviewed by the editorial team, and authors will be notified of the outcome prior to the acceptance of their manuscript for publication.

Appeals Process: In cases where a fee waiver request is denied, authors have the right to appeal the decision. Appeals should be submitted in writing and include any additional information or documentation that may support the request. The editorial team will reconsider the appeal and provide a final decision.

Conclusion: At Critique Open Research & Review, we strive to eliminate financial barriers to scholarly communication and ensure that researchers from all corners of the globe have the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of knowledge. Our article processing fee waiver policy reflects our commitment to fostering inclusivity and diversity in academic publishing.
