Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement

The International Journal of Next-Generation Engineering and Technology (IJNGET) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures to prevent publication malpractice. The journal follows the ethical principles and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expects all parties involved in the publication process—authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher—to adhere strictly to these ethical guidelines.

1. Ethical Responsibilities of Authors

Authors submitting manuscripts to IJNGET are expected to adhere to the following ethical standards:

1.1 Originality and Plagiarism

  • Manuscripts must be entirely original works.

  • Proper citation and acknowledgment of all sources are mandatory.

  • Plagiarism, including self-plagiarism and redundant publication, is strictly prohibited.

  • All submissions may be screened using plagiarism detection software.

1.2 Multiple, Redundant, or Concurrent Submissions

  • Authors must not submit the same manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal.

  • Submitting previously published work without proper disclosure is considered unethical.

1.3 Authorship and Contribution

  • Authorship should reflect significant intellectual contributions to the research.

  • All listed authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.

  • Changes in authorship after submission require written consent from all authors.

1.4 Data Integrity and Reproducibility

  • Authors must ensure accuracy, transparency, and integrity of research data.

  • Fabrication, falsification, or selective reporting of data is unacceptable.

  • Raw data should be made available upon reasonable request.

1.5 Disclosure of Conflicts of Interest

  • Authors must disclose any financial, professional, or personal relationships that could influence their research.

  • All funding sources must be clearly stated.

2. Ethical Responsibilities of Editors

Editors of IJNGET are responsible for maintaining the integrity of the academic record and ensuring fair editorial decisions.

2.1 Editorial Independence

  • Editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

  • Decisions are not influenced by commercial or personal interests.

2.2 Confidentiality

  • Editors must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents.

  • Information about submissions must not be disclosed to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and publisher.

2.3 Conflict of Interest

  • Editors must recuse themselves from handling manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest.

2.4 Ethical Oversight

  • Editors are responsible for investigating ethical concerns, allegations of misconduct, or complaints, following COPE procedures where necessary.

3. Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers

Peer reviewers play a vital role in maintaining publication quality and ethical standards.

3.1 Confidentiality

  • Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential and not shared or discussed with others.

3.2 Objectivity and Constructive Feedback

  • Reviews should be objective, unbiased, and constructive, providing clear arguments and scholarly critique.

3.3 Timeliness

  • Reviewers should complete reviews within the agreed timeframe or promptly inform the editor if delays are unavoidable.

3.4 Conflict of Interest

  • Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest and decline review assignments if impartiality cannot be ensured.

4. Publisher’s Responsibilities

The publisher of IJNGET is committed to supporting ethical publishing practices and ensuring editorial independence.

  • The publisher does not interfere with editorial decisions.

  • Ethical issues, retractions, corrections, and clarifications are handled transparently and promptly.

  • The publisher ensures permanent availability and preservation of published content.

5. Handling of Misconduct, Retractions, and Corrections

  • Allegations of research misconduct (plagiarism, data manipulation, unethical research practices) are investigated thoroughly.

  • If misconduct is confirmed, appropriate actions may include manuscript rejection, retraction, correction, or notification to affiliated institutions.

  • Retractions and corrections are published clearly and linked to the original article.

6. Ethical Compliance Statement

By submitting a manuscript to the International Journal of Next-Generation Engineering and Technology, authors confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to comply with this Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement and the ethical principles outlined by COPE.
